Cost of living

Norwegian cost of living

Today, Norway is considered one of the 3 European countries with the highest cost of living.
For a student, the average cost of living is estimated at 767€ per month according to the University of Oslo.

The data is established around 3 major points, the price of renting an apartment, the cost of public transport and the cost of food.

Generally, students will prefer to live in student residences, where the monthly price is 375€. The cost of public transportation is estimated at 62€ per month, and the cost of food at 330€.
It is therefore understandable that the cost of student life is rather expensive, which is why students have the opportunity to find "student jobs" even if it is difficult when you don't speak Norwegian.
