COVID 19 situation
About the COVID situation
The COVID-19 situation in Denmark is degrading and so they had to tightens their lockdown which is affecting about 280.000 people. In fact they announced that they discovered in the North of the country a new mutation of the disease that were found in minks and then also in humans. As the mutation was a threat to an eventual vaccine seven municipalities in the north of the country, home to most of Denmark's mink farms, will impose restrictions on movement across county lines.
The lockdown in Denmark is planned to be less than 1 month length, starting from November 9 and apply until at least 3 December 2020, it is their 2nd lockdown since the first one took place in April.
How the people react to the government mesures
And last but not least the Dannish people don't care about the lockdown, unlike the Italian or French that would feel it like a prison sentence, they enjoy littles things in life, it's called "hygge" it encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through the enjoyment of the simple things in life. Meik Wiking CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen states: “What freedom is to Americans….hygge is to Danes”. This last statement illustrates how much Danes enjoy staying at home with their family and benefitting from all the “hyggelige moments” – the simple moments that life has to offer. And thanks to that their lockdowns can be less long than in some other countries.
